For the Boys / The letters

The Boy Who Became Your Father

Stories of my life I want you to know.

To my future sons,

I want you to know the experiences behind the advice I’ll give you. The boy I was, the choices I made, the ventures I tried, the mistakes I learned from and the dreams that kept me moving.

Growing up, I went almost everywhere with my parents. I was in rooms with them, listening and watching. I grew up with privilege, opportunity and access, and with an awareness of the realities around me in Nigeria. Those beginnings are part of the story I want to tell you.

I’m planning this as a series of letters about my life. The people who shaped me, the things I struggled with, what worked and what didn’t. I want you to meet me in those stories, as well as in the lessons I pass on.
